Well I will try to have a Perry Christmas in his honor; the 90s were rad, just how I member!
I accidentily made another version of the whole video my browser home page and the standard suggestion in chrome for youtube, so I ended up watching a few seconds of this video probably hundreds of times. The whole video is worth a watch for so many reasons though, quite long and surreal to see how new everything was. taskbars and email and shortcuts oh my. so trippy!

Such a weird ad campaign to make an operating system seem hip. Someone I know was a part of this. Microsoft set up a house somewhere in NYC and they had celebs (including Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston) in different rooms of the house to talk about how Windows 95 was going to revolutionize daily life. My friend was in the kitchen with Julie Child. She said Julia Child didn’t really understand wtf they were doing or why they were there.

Having grown up in the 90’s/00’s, it is super weird in retrospect that operating systems had ads. In our current era, an OS having an ad like this feels similar to if oxygen had an ad. Or blood
