I need this movie to have two things, and two things only:
* Someone tasting blood, staring into the middle distance, saying “it’s blood,” and someone else responding to that with a deeply felt “Sonofa*bitch*”
* Someone intoning, in a deep, muffled voice “white meat. Dark meat. All will be carved.”
That’s bascially the bar for this movie. It is not a high bar. Looking at this teaser, that bar is probably properly set. It’s a movie based on a fake trailer from a mostly forgotten flop that came and went over 15 years ago. I’m not expecting much.
>Watch the teaser trailer for #ThanksgivingMovie and see it exclusively in movie theaters November 17.
>After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday.
loved that they are keeping the “all will be carved” part of the marketing. me and my friends loved the grindhouse trailer when it first came out in 07. the trampoline bit with the voiceover “white meat, dark meat, all will be carved” is a classic lol
Didn’t he make this only because he was fired from Borderlands? I know this is just for shock factor for people to think he’s back in his Hostel routes, but it feels like a quick money grab. Like, he was thinking when fired, home alone, “What old project could I revive to get some money for rent?”. Like his shot for shot Cabin Fever remake that sucked
IDK, that’s the vibe I’m getting. I just love Borderlands so much as a game I’m pissed he’s ruined the adaptation and I’m kind of salty about it if you can tell lol
Damn, they got Patrick Dempsey for this? I know he’s not a mega movie star but its still surprising to see that Eli Roth landed *him* to play the Sheriff.
Wasn’t this a Grindhouse trailer?

But I better get those two things.
Lol they teased the cheerleader trampoline bit from the Grindhouse trailer. This might actually be really fun
When I say I only watch real cinema, this is what I mean. This is going to be incredible – a true masterpiece.
They’re actually doing the trampoline bit, excellent!
I know Eli Roth isn’t exactly that great of a filmmaker but I’ve highly enjoyed all his films, so I’m actually kinda looking forward to this

As with everything else, what was once parody is now reality

Loses a lot of soul when it doesn’t have that grindhouse aesthetic of decayed film.
Eli Roth here to save cinema. Honestly so thankful to get something so ridiculous.
For those who haven’t see the Grindhouse Trailer
