Can’t believe the canceled line is real. God damn this looks bad.
Also why is everything so clean looking. The sets, digital film, everything is too clean and proper when compared to the original. Only thing that looks properly gross is Leatherface
The Texas Chainsaw sequels are a body for some of the worst trends in horror filmmaking, the original movie is super intense, gritty, and realistic, and would 100% be an example of what’s called ‘elevated horror’ now.
In the original, Leatherface wasn’t an unstoppable force, the climax of the film is him getting beat by trucker on the side of a road and the chainsaw flailing against a car door, but that scene feels intense because those elements add a feeling of legitimacy and truth to the footage. Mindhunter feels like more of a spiritual successor to than movie than this.
Other than the dialogue and the shameless aping off of H18, looks better then I expected, but still not very good lol. I’ll give the bad joke at the end a pass because the kill after it actually looked really good
Oh my god so funny those people are so obsessed with their phones haha they’re taking photos and video because technology hahaha that’s such a funny and fresh take on society hahahah
Texas chainsaw is my favorite of the slasher movies I’m excited for it the first one is the scariest movie I’ve ever seen probably because I watched it way to young but I’m always scared of leatherface
Tbh, this looks pretty cool. Probably won’t be the nihilistic arthouse terror film that the original was, but it looks like intense, gory fun. And I’m excited to see Elsie Fisher in a film again.
>Leatherface: *revs chainsaw*
>
>Victims: **TAKE OUT THEIR PHONES TO FUCKING CANCEL HIM**
…I take it back. *Halloween Kills* no longer has the dumbest slasher characters of the 21st century. Christ on a bike, it’s like one of those shitty *Stab* movies Craven snuck into *Scream*.
I dont think bringing back sally was the best decision, yeah she was the best final girl of the series imo, but she wasnt much of a fighter, she screamed and ran a lot and practically went insane at the end.
Leatherface is like 70 years old now and unlike Michael Meyers or Jason Vorhees, has never been shown to have any supernatural abilities. You’d think it would be pretty easy to outrun or overpower him.
I feel like trailers need to change their relevance. I avoid them completely for things I’m actually interested in, but I’ll watch something like this if it’s available immediately.
So they’re picking up almost 50 years later, and we’re supposed to believe young in shape teens cannot take on a dude who is at least 70 years old when 1 trucker fucked him up in his prime? GTFO They should’ve set it in the 90s or something at least, or this better be Leatherfaces little inbred son taking the reigns lol
Okay, so they’re straight-up ripping off the Halloween reboot with the original final girl coming back for revenge. Sigh.
Texas republicans little shot at cancel culture ? No? Ok
Holy shit, that bus scene was actually true.
Am I the only one who thinks that it looks good? I wasn’t sure before the trailer but now I will certainly check it and bus scene was hilarious.
Sign me the hell up. This looks like it could be a lot of fun.

So its basically Halloween 2018? Still, looks like a fun movie!
Man, can we just let these old horror franchises die? Pretty please?
The best horror flicks of the last decade or so have been original ideas. Hereditary, It Follows, The Witch, etc.

this looks awful, can’t wait to watch
So does this mean Leatherface is like 60 years old now??

Whelp, the test screening synopsis that leaked was 100% accurate. This is gonna suck. At least the shot of Leatherface in the field is cool, I guess.
Horror movies nowadays are bad but they suffer from the success of 70s and 80s horror franchises
This looks awful, it is basically just them ripping off the Halloween reboot, and that was already an underwhelming movie.

Geographic nit-pick:
Central Texas does not have mountains.
Those flashes of blackness are annoying as shit.
Why has been waiting for so long? She literally knows where he lives.
It’s a shame it looks so bad, Elsie fisher was great in eighth grade and I want her to succeed 🙁
We’re in the pinnacle time for major horror franchises to be comedies

Y’know.
**As a joke.**
The “abandoned town” looked straight out of a studio lot. Yeesh
Feels like these modern horror reboots are all about having a high body count and references and less about heightened tension and character depth.
Evil dies tonight!
Totally uninspired. Will be another disappointing horror. Sad how bad horrors have been the last couple of years.
This looks dumb.

How many reboot/prequels/sequels can they do of this movie?
None have been good. Yet we have to as an audience pretend this hasn’t been done time and time again with the same damn series?
no.
Damn Jessica Beil got old

They really shouldn’t make new movies continuing continuity of a movie from 50 years ago. Is leatherface like 80 now?
The girl in the opening shot looks just like Margot Robbie.
