I love this show. I love the first season, I love the second (despite all the endless discourse), and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna love the third season. But I don’t think any scene will top this one. Barbecue Sauce.
This moment has come up a few times on this subreddit and I always post on it because I love it so much.
When you watch this scene it tells you something meaningful about every character. If you go back after season 2 and re-watch it with the additional context of Ted’s relationship with his father, it tells you so much more about him than you thought you knew.
It directly shows you that even in this scene, which is fairly straightforward, there was more to question and we just didn’t know how significant or relevant those questions would be until later.
Never mind that it also just happens to be funny and lovely, it is also very poignant. Be curious about all things but if you haven’t watched Ted Lasso be very curious about it.
Loved this scene, is probably the best moment and you don’t need much or any context to appreciate it.
Hope the 3rd season gets back to this quality, 2nd felt like a black mirror episode at times, it had some surreal moments and not in a good way. Even weirder on re-watch.
Ok, I love it, but the dude asked Ted if he liked darts. Because he was curious. And unless Ted is even crazier at Billiards than he is at darts, he pretty much lied with his answer, punishing him for his curiosity.
I hate/love this show. It’s undeniably good but I hate reading anyone on the internet talk about it, especially the gimps going on about how wholesome it is
Love this scene. I’ll also be *that guy* and point out that the quote from Whitman is “Be curious, not judgmental”. It just has even more poetry to it that way.
I do hope they end the show on their terms, I feel like this show hit way bigger than they thought it would and I’m worried the producers and execs are gonna want to drag it out as much as they can now
That quote is lost on redditors. lol.

Wait so this show isn’t a comedy?

Apple TV has put some really good stuff out recently. Ted Lasso, Severance, Mythic Quest are some of the best shows you’re not watching.
This scene is what convinced me to get Apple TV+. What a fantastic show.
What is the appeal of this show?

Unpopular opinion. I don’t like this show. I watched season one. It was ok but not something I would recommend.
Watched two episodes of season two and called it quits.
I don’t get why people love it so.
YMMV
This was *the* moment where it hit me how good this show was. It was great all the way through but that scene was special.
Rupert: “Do you like darts, Ted?”
…
Ted: “…If they were curious they would ask questions…questions like ‘have you played a lot of darts, Ted?’”
I think this might’ve just sold me an AppleTV subscription.

Where’s your wholesome now?

Apple TV is worth the five bucks. But I’d definitely cancel it again once I see all the originals. The catalog isn’t big.
I remember watching this scene on YouTube and then being like ok. I’ll watch this show…
I liked this show a lot from the start.
But this…. this is where I realized I loved it.
Richmond till we die! Wen season 3!?!
One of the best scenes in the show
Gods that first season was so good. It’s no wonder the second season couldn’t reach those heights.
This show just makes you feel warm all over. We should all be like Ted.
This is just the best feel-good show. I think this and Parks & Rec are two of the best optimistic comedies out there.
Waiting for the tea fans to say ITT, “We’ll you’re judgey AF about tea Ted!”
video has right side audio only

When will the last season Air? I cant wait anymore 😀
What an incredible scene! This was the part where this show went from really good to incredible for me.
Just remember, you don’t have to be stupid if you happen to be good.
