What this man did is inexcusable. But I wonder if this touches on the experiments done to him when he was younger? Correct me if I’m mistaken, but thats why he became what he was.
Looks interesting. I’ll certainly watch it. The reasoning behind these kinds of sick minds are nonsensical to me. Hey Ted, where did you think your glasses came from? How about your typewriter? Those kinds of things would not be available to you in a completely agrarian society/economy. Yes, we need to do more to protect the environment, but throwing away modern tools is never going to be the answer.
Can’t wait for a whole bunch of people to idolize the protagonist despite him being a clearly portrayed as an awful human being with severe psychological problems.
How many Ted Kaczynski movies/shows we need? Netflix already has like a dozen shows about him. The world has a plethora of twisted serial killers. Why do filmmakers always go back to the same ones over and over again?
> Sean : Hey, Gerry, In the 1960s there was a young man that graduated from the University of Michigan. Did some brilliant work in mathematics. Specifically bounded harmonic functions. Then he went on to Berkeley. He was assistant professor. Showed amazing potential. Then he moved to Montana, and blew the competition away.
I thought my crazy uncle was the Unabomber until they arrested Ted kazinski. Turned turned out my uncle was just a crazy guy who lived in lived in a hut in the forest.
Oh wow, the movie looks way more over dramatized than what the articles and documentaries on unabomber are like. Cool guy walking away from explosions and choppers in the sky making him look like Rambo.
I had a professor who went to university with him. I asked him what Kaczynski was like. He just shrugged and went “I don’t know. Quiet.” Seems about right lol
Hmmm, I live in the county that ole Teddy lived in and was eventually captured in. I do not recall there being any hype about a film crew up in Lincoln any time in the past 4 years. Although they claim they filmed on location.
Read his manifesto to any conservative radio host without telling them who it’s from, and they would call him the next best presidential candidate next to Trump
I have nothing to add to this discussion except to say that in the 90s when I was a kid I wrote a new verse to the Billy Joel song “We Didn’t Start the Fire” to update it with the current events of the time, and I was especially proud of the rhyme/verses:
I’ve been listening to his manifesto audiobook on youtube. It’s interesting in some parts but if you are listening critically it does not hold water. Like others have said, he was correct about the state of a lot of things but his ideas for dealing with them are batshit.
Kaczynski was so smart that the FBI never figured out who he was. It took the publication of some of his material in the NYT for Ted’s brother to say, ‘Hey, this writing reminds me of some of the shit my brother has said.’ They’d still be in the dark if Ted had not pushed for his writing to be published.
But, of course the FBI takes the credit. They always take the credit. They even consider the case of DB Cooper solved because none of the ransom money ever showed up (not counting the money found in the riverbed).
Can we actually not make mass murderers and terrorists into celebrities and rock stars? The next Kaczynski is out there looking at how this dude is still talked about and salivating at his own immortality.
From the thumbnail I thought it was Al Pacino, glad they got someone less crazy than Ted Kaczynski to play him.
Can’t believe they’re still making these after Ted 2 bombed.
The potato soup that me made looks delicious.

Hell yes. Love me some Sharlto Copley. This should be super interesting
The industrial revolution and its consequences…

worst Ted talk EVER!
Teddy boy was pretty much right about everything except for his methods.
Can’t wait for a whole bunch of people to idolize the protagonist despite him being a clearly portrayed as an awful human being with severe psychological problems.
The Unabomber. The name is pretty much the only thing I know about this guy.
How many Ted Kaczynski movies/shows we need? Netflix already has like a dozen shows about him. The world has a plethora of twisted serial killers. Why do filmmakers always go back to the same ones over and over again?
I can’t wait for the Blanck Mass soundtrack
I’ve watched several documentaries on the Unabomber. A bizarrely fascinating subject, and equally bizarrely fascinating person.
This movie looks incredibly over dramatized based on what I’ve watched.

> Lambeau : Yeah, so who was he?
> Sean : Ted Kaczynski.
> Lambeau : Haven’t heard of him.
> Sean : [yelling to the bartender] Hey, Timmy!
> Timmy : Yo.
> Sean : Who’s Ted Kaczynski?
> Timmy : Unabomber.
Watch Manhunt: Unibomber
good miniseries about this.
Ahh yes a movie that Will inevitably make ppl empathetic towards the unibomber
Stupid sexy Ted Kascinsky.

Maybe borrowed just a tiny inspiration bit with these weird technological sounds from the Manhunt: Unabomber soundtrack here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoodhA5DuGk&t=118s

ITT: “Yeah but, like, was the Unabomber *really* a bad guy?”
The great Roy Scheider returns!
When the comment section agrees with the Unabomber you know things are bad in this hell world. Are we all going to start bombing everything together?

He nailed the voice. Something Bettany didn’t bother with.

Lowkey expected a talking teddy bear 😕

they were scrambling F-16s for the Unabomber? what?
Love sharlto. Gonna watch this rain or shine

Sharlto Copley has a pretty strong SA accent. Wonder how his american accent is. I hope it isn’t as bad as Gerald Butler’s American accent lol
Wow that looks really good
“Thank God Ted Kaczynski was a Mathematician and not a Chemist.”
I’d rather watch a movie on the inner workings of the CIA around the time JFK had the director fired.
God damnit, Will Ferrel got robbed.
Are they going to blame MK Ultra and CIA experiments?
Looks like a Batman villain origin story.
First half of the trailer. Oohh a story about the environment, that will teach us about the destructive power construction.
Second half of the trailer. Oh shit I was wrong, I shouldn’t be rooting for this guy, dudes crazy
People: ‘Stop publicizing the names and photos of serial killers and mass murderers, we know they want to be idolized.’
Hollywood: ‘Hey let’s make a movie about a mass murderer, it’ll make millions.’
