I remember watching movies with my Dad and he always looked through the DVD menus for easter eggs. I can’t remember which movie, but this was one of them, and I remember this is how he heard they were even making LOTR movies, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so excited.

I assume someone has mocked up what this would be if it were a modern-day trailer.

Damn that is such a bad trailer for such a good film
Gandalf’s hat in those films has always irked me. It’s not supposed to look like a frozen wind sock, it’s only supposed to look like that in a high wind.
The prop makers must have said “Right, what does Gandalf’s hat look like…OK, here’s a pic of him walking in it.”
And they made it exactly as it appears, without realising that the way it tapers to a wavy point is how it looks when it is being blown in the wind, not how it is supposed to look all the damned time.
Remember when movies were good?
Using a generic trailer guy voice was a strange choice. His delivery on ‘bring them all’ was very awkward.
I imagine a lot of people were getting ‘generic fantasy battle’ vibes, but then Galadriel really elevated it.
And you’ve gotta love the balls of straight up telling everyone that the next movies are coming out the following years.
