Susan Ahn Cuddy, born Susan Ahn, came from a Korean American family that accomplished much in dealing with anti-Asian sentiments during the WWII and post-war era. She married a fellow Navy officer (who was white), and later raised two children after her retirement from the NSA. Passing away in 2015, she lived to the age of 100.
Her two brothers, Philip and Ralph also served in the military and became notable actors. Philip was a recognizable face in dozens of films and acted in the TV show, “Kung Fu.”
