That wave looked like it came out of nowhere. Just Poseidon out here deciding to fuck up that particular ship.

Crazy to me that these things weren’t really accepted to exist outside the fishing community until like 25 years ago. And weren’t really fully understood until relatively recently. People just didn’t believe the fishermen, and it took a rig measuring one in 1995 for people to start taking it seriously doing actual research.
Fun fact: Rogue “holes” are also theorized to exist. Which is, uh, a little unnerving…

Why cut there? Another 5-10 seconds of video would have been nice. Bad editing ruined what could have been a good video.

It mentions in the video that recent studies suggest that waves in that area could reach up to 65ft. In other parts of the world there have been 100ft rogue waves documented. These kind of waves can completely destroy a ship like this and it’s possible that no trace will ever be found of the wreck.
