Shiv trapped in a loveless marriage, having incinerated her ties to her family, and compromised any values she at least claimed to hold.
Kendall, having essentially lost his crown, his own children, his dignity, his siblings, and any pretensions to honor he might have had by helping elect a fascist.
Roman, a complete miserable wreck whose only point of self-actualization was realizing his own worthlessness, his brief flirtation with power and success and control dying within a day as he’s mocked by his own idol.
I take a great deal of satisfaction from their misery. When devils and monsters fight I, as a human being, can only hope they murder each other, and so they did.
I liked the way Jesse frames Roman’s journey, just a little detour. He could be that guy, under better circumstances, but honestly it doesn’t matter to him.
