Then, the doctors and medical staff cure the kid’s cancer using technology, equipment, medicines and knowledge all developed and produced by humans…and when the cancer is gone, these fucking people thank God.
It would be offensive, but it’s mass psychosis and not really their fault. They’ve been terrorized by stories about suffering eternal torture if they don’t get on God’s good side, and not given a 100% clear way to do that. Keeping someone in a state of terror is an extremely effective way of controlling them.
