Personally, more pumped for this than Obi-Wan (and i’m very pumped for Obi-Wan).
I have massive issues with Discovery and my eyes about rolled into the back of my head when I read they were introducing Pike & Co in S2. But they ended up being the best part of the season (show?).
Anson Mount is *so* fucking good as Pike and I really hope they deliver on their promise to make this more like the original series, focusing on adventure and exploration rather than the cavalcade of “universe ending” threats we’ve been subjected to in new trek.
Looks great, this has been my most anticipated ST project in a while now. Huge fan of TOS and really looking forward to a return to that aesthetic and format but with updated production values and modern sensibilities.
Everything Paramount+ has done regarding star trek has left me cold. This trailer does nothing to convince me otherwise.
a few audio cues, vague voice over, some special effects… just enough nostalgia driven serotonin hits to get the die hards excited again.
Star Wars does space opera better. I want optimisim, progressive hope for humanity and positive humanistic values. THAT is how Star Trek was different.
It looks like they are leaning into more explorative Trek. i’d love for it to be more episodic. Tell different kinds of stories instead of being locked into one big sweeping mess like Discovery and Picard have been.
I still don’t understand why Star Trek keeps trying televised prequels. Enterprise (2001-2005) got cancelled prematurely after three successful shows had completed their seven season stories. Discovery wasn’t cancelled, but it rebooted itself into non-prequel status after the second season.
I guess **maybe** Third Time’s The Charm, when it comes to Star Trek Prequel Shows?
Oh man, I’m apparently part of the small minority who liked Discovery. Yeah it was what Star Trek is usually about, but it’s not like the other Star Trek isn’t still there. I enjoyed something different, and we all know they’re gonna do more of the classic style Star Trek in the future
Good stuff. I have very high hopes for snw. May be a bit too high. I think snw could be the best star trek since ds9 just because how pike is positioned. Guy is like the ultimate startrek captain archetype. I hope they don’t mess it up.
I couldn’t get into Discovery (stopped halfway through S1), but I’ve been a big fan of Anson Mount since Hell on Wheels. Anybody know if I’ll need to watch all of Discovery to get this show? Hoping I can skip it.
As someone who never really got into discovery, this looks way more up my alley in terms of star trek. I miss classic sci fi of unique stories every episode. Not *everything* has to take pages from Lost and tell a long story
Anson was such a breath of fresh air in Disco S2, I feel like he gave Saru and Burnham an ideal to aspire to.
And Obi-wan go hang out in the desert for as long as he likes… I am so sick of SW shows stuck on Tatooine. I’m starting to hate sand as much as Anakin.
Hopeful but cautious. Nutrek hasn’t had a very good track record at all.
I like that crew so I am hopeful. But Trek has not been great in a while.
Oh hell yes!
He and his crew were awesome in Discovery.
I so look forward to this!
Why would they drop this in the same hour Obi-Wan released? Paramount must have known Disney was having their shareholder meeting.
the recent Picard is giving me a glimmer of hope, hopefully this continues the trend after years of dreadful Discovery

Love Anson Mount as Pike, really excited for this
I love new Trek and LOVED amount’s portrayal of Pike. He soon became one of my all time favourite captain’s.
Also love the era it’s set in. TOS always felt more frontier-y then the TNG era, which felt more like it was about maintaining diplomatic relations.
Very excited for this show.
Visually that looked pretty damn good, P+ must’ve poured a ton of money into this
So hoping this is good and feels like classic Trek!! Please!!

Damn, that’s a good teaser. That’s the tone I’m looking for
Dear Paramount — Please don’t fuck this up.

I can’t wait to be told why I should dislike this show too
Alright, that is actually a pretty good trailer.

This better be episodic, the current star trek writers can’t write season long arcs for shit.
Can’t wait for this!

I like Anson Mount. Hope they don’t crap it up like ST:D.
