That is Sir Patrick Stewart to you…
If you rewatch the first season of Next Gen his character was an absolute grouch. I thought it was a decision of the writers but it sounds like it was the energy he was bringing to the part himself. I’m really happy he decided to soften the character and apparently himself, too, over time.
He’s told the story numerous times over the years. It was the cast who basically peer pressured him. Stewarts amazing because he came at Star Trek with all kinds of prejudice and expectations and they all melted away thanks to the great people(NOT BERMAN) who worked on the show with him.
O captain my captain
Isn’t that literally also Picard’s whole arc?
Sitting down with the poker game at the end?
a 90! year old working through mommy issues never clicked with me.
Oh god. Even remembering that line, “So, five card stud, nothing wild…and the sky’s the limit”, makes me start to tear up.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard : It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life.
Light hearted Patrick Stewart is great, but I love stern Captain Picard.
You can’t watch American Dad and come away with the feeling that he takes himself too seriously, that’s for sure.
I am sad no one talks about his role in “Jeffery” anymore
Wasn’t Picard meant to be stern? He’s a diplomat essentially
I remember Picard disliking kids in the beginning. I guess Wesley helped bring him around to tolerating children lol. Picard is still my fav captain of all time.
oh he definitely loves himself
I will be completely crushed when this absolute gem of a human dies. Just seeing his face and hearing him speak does mysterious and wonderful things to my heart.
Counselor Troi certainly helped me love myself.
