Someone put a sign on the vending machine at work, so I graded it.

See me after class.
Those are cheap-ass vending machine prices.
They are complaining about $1.75 for a bag of sandwich cookies like that isn’t the going rate (or better) in vending machines everywhere these days.
Personally I would have just wrote “Then bring your own shit” at the bottom, but this is fun too
Why didn’t you correct any of the incorrect capitalization?
This wouldn’t even get a passing grade from me.
I bet you feel superior
Can you explain why the comma was added? Maybe I don’t talk english much good but it doesn’t seem like it belongs.
Somewhere?
OP you did a really bad job of grading. If you’re going to be obnoxious, at least be correct. What it says, after your “corrections,” is:
Stop upping the Prices, or we won’t Buy anything and get someone Else.
It SHOULD say:
Stop upping the prices or we won’t buy anything and we’ll get someone else.
The comma is not necessary. You missed all those capital letters somehow? And in the original sentence, it looks like “won’t” is modifying both “Buy” and “get.”
I don’t know what’s worse, their grasp on English or their grasp on how the employee servicing the machine has absolutely no say in the prices.
To my knowledge there was supposed to be no comma before “or”. Am I wrong?
Don’t need the comma.
I used to mark notes left around the shop for spelling, punctuation and grammar and give them a grade out of 10. Most were well below 5/10. Eventually I got in trouble for it.
Those would be like 4 bucks in my country from a vending machine
It’s funny that people don’t understand that they’re being charged for convenience.
Vending machine vendors will raise the prices as long as people continue to purchase from the machine. If the sales drop, they will lower the prices. If the sales continue to be poor, they will remove the machine themselves.
One paper that will make at least two people better
I couldn’t see. So I looked closer to my phone, I’m disappointed and thankful nothing jumped out at me.
The purpose of language is to communicate. If you can get your message across you are communicating.
Two independent clauses concatenated together by a conjunction do not require a comma before the conjunction.
