God damn that movie is amazing. I’ve seen it dozens of times and it still gets my heart racing.
Val Kilmer was thrilled to learn that the moment in the gunbattle scene where he runs out of bullets, and rapidly changes his magazine, is regularly shown to Marine recruits as an example of how to perform the action properly.

The controlled chaos, the overwhelming intimidation of an assault rifle, the textbook rifleman tactics employed by the back robbers, the drama and destruction spilling into the streets…blew me away in the cinema and occasional watch the clip on YouTube
