So my BIL runs the control room at Citi Field. This is how they pass the time during a rain delay.

That’s literally cool as fuck
That’s amazing!
that is awesome!
Damn, that’s some creative shit right there. Wish I could pass the time like that at my job.
What’s BIL?
Have a buddy who used to work at our local theater in high school. When we would go in early before movie showings to load film up and prep the projectors etc we’d bring our Xbox 360s in and play games. Was awesome.
Everyone is going to be upset when the rain stops and they have to go back to the baseball game.
I would give anything to experience this.
The Mets have been such shit this year that the fans may have been cool with this throughout the games too.
How did your BIL get permission to do something like that?
So I imagine that this was just the people in the control room playing but it would be really fun to have the professional baseball players do it. “Sorry guys we can’t have the player compete in baseball right now but we can see how the teams do against each other in a video game”.
I was just there! Pissed it got post-poned.
I wonder how the screen latency is. 🤔
This is what baseball stadiums should be used for.
I mean, who wouldn’t
Isn’t there’s significant delay with this screen?
Should have played the Mario Baseball game. I think it’s called Mario Super Sluggers or something? Little extra humour.
Wonder how bad the input lag is
Man, the input delay on that must be difficult to play through.
Shouldn’t they be showing sponsors/advertisements etc rather than this?
*Flashbacks to the MLB subreddit literally having discussions on the Mario baseball game and who was the worst to pitch against*
I always wonder how is the input delay on such a thing? Are you able to actually play? Do you need to adjust or are you perfectly able to play as if it was a normal tv in your living room
Amazing, but it ain’t golden eye…
Mario went Apple-picking. ‘Tis the season.
I’d imagine the input lag is abysmal
Oh you’re the type to start a sentence with “so”, aren’t you
Is that Rosalina or Pebbles Flintstone?
Nintendo lawsuit incoming
The most interesting to ever happen at a baseball game.
Edit: the *only* interesting thing.
God I wish I could experience something like this! Getting all hyped up with strangers, sharing unexpected, unique fun.
I love how 99% of the crowd near the board is going out of their way to turn and watch.
Muck the fets but thats awesome
Awesome!!!
This is a great idea, get the two from each team to go at it for the crowds entertainment
No peeking at my corner of the Trinitron!
Local college stadium rolled out a tarp to keep the field dry and the staff used it as a giant slip in slide
They gotta have subway surfers in the background during games now
I help with the nationals scoreboard and I wish we did that during a rain delay. We just put another game on the scoreboard thats going on
Won’t be long before they realize they’re wasting precious advertising space
Google rented all of Oracle park for a holiday party a few years ago and had every concession stand open, plus things like an ice rink and Ferris wheel on the field, but the opportunity to play on the big screen was by far the biggest attraction. Curious about input lag
Would love to see an N64 hooked up to that.
It would be indecipherable.
This is more exciting to watch than actual Mets games
