So I got an ad for the new Lego driving game and saw a disclaimer that mentions the game “features content that may require unlocking via gameplay”. Is there really a need for such a disclaimer???

Apparently so, just remember it only takes one idiot to ruin it for everyone
People might start the game and wonder where the vehicle they showed in the ad is and claim they were lied to.
It’s not a direct correlation but I compare this disclaimer to the ones showing someone driving their car down the road through town. Not racing, no burnouts, no crazy maneuvers, just driving straight and at the speed limit. Then you see the disclaimer pop up “professional driver on a closed course, do not attempt”. So they are telling us to not attempt driving normally or what? It’s equally as odd to me.
Isn’t that nearly all games?
In Minecraft, you can’t access the Nether without the gameplay of lighting a portal. Is that “unlockable content”?
Life is circular. We started with unlocking things with gameplay, then with money, then straight gambling, and now back to unlocking things with gameplay.
