I can’t believe I’m going to to get see Elton this summer.
I remember watching this when I was little (maybe a rerun). The crocodiles scared me (I thought they were going to eat him and the band), I hated this song for a long time after seeing it.
He looks more like a muppet than the muppets do.
I’m sad that Dr John was never a guest and never jammed with Dr Teeth

YES!!! 5 year old me remembers watching this fantastic moment and dancing around the living room. I wish I could tell Jim Henson how much I appreciate his life’s work and how it made me who I am today. From my cat named Kermit to my motorcycle named Gonzo with a stuffed super Gonzo in a cape flying of my handle bars, the muppets are with me every day. Thanks Jim

My dad was a TV as salesman back in the 70s, and gave me a poster of the Muppet Show, with pictures of all the guest stars those first couple of seasons – probably just some free schwag he was always getting from the network.
I remember loving that poster, but always thought they’d included a typo, as *surely* that guy’s name was really “John Elton”, not the other way around! #7yearoldlogic
I think this is the clearest I’ve ever heard the vocals for this song, and the first time I could understand the words!
