Maybe I’ve misunderstood it, but is this like how people were saying more vaccinated people were dying of Covid than vaccinated… but that’s because like 80% of people were vaxxed.

Player A has a lower batting average than Player B in both year 1 and year 2. But if we combine both years together Player A has a higher average. How can that be?
In year 1, player A went 99/100 (99%) while player B was 5/5 (100%). In year 2, player A was 1/5 (20%) while player B was 33/100 (33%). If you take both years combined player A was 100/105 (95%) while player B was 38/105 (36%).
