What a bad performance
Pease play this at my funeral.
Just insane how short Sid life was…
‘d’ya ever get the feeling you’d been cheated?’
I always thought Sid’s version of this was the best. So shambolic yet great. The video was directed by Julien Temple.
I used to drink in the pub from Trainspotting where Begbie chucked the glass over the balcony and there was an old man who sang this version at karaoke every single week
Guy was just an immense fucking douche.
“England 1978”
“Pour la première fois en France”
From ” The Great Rock and Roll Swindle” movie. An amazing story if you believe Malcolm McLaren’s version of it. A manufactured band that was designed to be short lived and make as much money as possible.
Only weird thing is this mix of guys that could hardly play ended up making an iconic, groundbreaking album. And then it was all excessive and over with.
Plays over the end credits of GOODFELLAS.
What a crescendo. Was utter shit until that ending lol
Stay with it til the end. The ending is epic. Gives me chills.
I’m an average nobody… get to live the rest of my life like a schnook.
Ah, good old Simon Ferocious.
I can’t believe the amount of idiots in here assessing this like it was meant to be a totally genuine performance/attempt at singing
It’s a complete piss take designed to offend. That’s the point.
Gary Oldman does a great job reenacting this in Sid & Nancy
I enjoyed the show Pistol on Hulu. I’d recommend it if you didn’t really know much about the pistols and don’t care how accurate the characters are depicted. It was a fun watch. I would absolutely *avoid* it if you were a punk during that era and/or care deeply about how the pistols (or punk music history) might be misrepresented.
I am old enough to remember this when this came out… I used to love playing this in my company car!
Scene copied in Sid & Nancy.
Paul Anka’s My Way.
I love Gary Oldman
A lot of sour grapes in this thread. I dunno, maybe just let the rest of us enjoy it?
Man, I’m glad I stuck that out because at the very beginning when he was singing it slow… All I could hear was Patrick Star singing.
Ahhh, allways requested on radio with pictures tv show.
I don’t consider this cool. The guy was a joke with no talent. This was his attempt at a solo career which obviously fell flat.
Every time I see him I can’t help but think about how he used to get off on torturing animals.
I had/have this on vinyl. Wanna say it was called Sid Viicous at the Electric Ballroom or something. Definitely a bootleg. I’ll have to see if I still have it
This isn’t going to get a lot of upvotes but it is legitimately the coolest thing on this sub. Totally incomprehensible to generations before or since but upended the status quo, embodied the cultural revolution of its time, and changed music forever. If that’s not the definition of cool, then I don’t know what is.
Sid Vicious is not and never has been cool
I can’t be the only one that thinks this is absolutely shite
Wow. That’s terrible
Christ, what an insufferable douchebag he was.
he sounds like garbage.
He told us, “Today, I killed a cat” but I didn’t take it seriously. Turns out he did. He killed a few cats. Whenever he squatted he’d torture and kill the alley cats for fun. He strangled a cat in front of Mark Helfond one day. He wished he could go back in time and stop him. He was a total piece of shit.
