Who would want to work for someone like that? I think his attitude has more to do with his lack of staff then people’s work ethic.

Sentiment is true though, my employees who don’t show up to work are always the ones who complain about having no money.
My buddy used to manage a kentacohut, it was terrible. The place was constantly short staffed, and it was at a mall so it was constantly busy.

Fully automating this type of things is the answer. No human should be required to do something so easily mechanized.
Except fast food places have always had their top hiring quality as ‘Will show up on time for shit’. Why else do they always ask if you have a reliable car?

If your employees keep not showing up, perhaps the issue isn’t the employees.
Start paying 25/hr. You won’t be able to keep them out. You’ll get someone with a PhD in fry cookery.
My wife and I own a company. We are trying to hire at $18/hour. We have had the last 3 people we hired never show up on the first day. No idea why.
Started a job as a Wheel and Tyre technician on today and that was the 1st thing they asked me in the interview. “If we offered you the position would you actually show up for work?”.

Can’t afford to pay a decent wage, offer benefits, or PTO? Maybe you aren’t equipped to run a business! Maybe you should open a cafe and cook and serve the food yourself instead of franchising and depending on poverty to fuel your work staff?
