I love the original *Law & Order* and was really sad when it ended as none of the spinoffs captured my attention. I’m rewatching the series now (on season 19) and comparing that to the feel of that trailer…*sigh* it feels like they never even watched the original series.
One of the things that made L&O great was that it stood back, had minimal (and very iconic) music cues, no slick and suggestive camera moves, and let the weight of the writing and acting carry the scenes.
Certainly, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting, not the commercial, so we won’t really know until the first episode is out but *damn* if that didn’t quash every ounce of enthusiasm I had for *Law & Order*’s return.

With it returning, looks like soon it’ll be time for me to actually watch some Law and Order. I know it’s one of the most popular shows of all time, but I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen a full episode of it or any of the spinoffs.
