There’s a lot of info that was revealed at the NYCC panel that can be found [here.](https://twitter.com/azalben/status/1713296188571562466) I’m so absurdly hype for the Anamanaguchi stuff. The Mortal Kombat cover in the trailer is apparently their work, too.
Brian O’Malley (original creator) writing, Edgar Wright (original director) producing, original cast returning, and Science Saru (Devilman Crybaby) animating.
This is gonna be awesome.
Edit: O’Malley talks about the anime at NYCC, someone compiled what he said.
Fantastic trailer. Also, its so damn fitting that the classic Mortal Kombat theme is…well…the theme of this trailer: retro gaming plus the boss battle-like plot works so well with it.
Sick as fuck, but I know I’m not the only one who noticed that the music for the official trailer was……..unimpressive.
As such a big part of the movie, I really hope they have more planned for the music and it wasn’t a post animation, let’s see what licensing we have, situation.
I REALLY hope this version of the story includes Lisa: she was genuinely one of the best characters from the books imo.
I completely understand why she was absent from the movie since there was no room for her, but she’s a key part of Scott’s “redemption arc” which wasn’t really done justice in the movie because it was two hours long and adapting a 1200 page graphic novel series
(Same goes for Nega Scott; I hope he’s an actual character instead of a one-off gag, and NOT a ‘decent guy’)
Other than that, I’m excited to see what they do with the anime, and how they go about it
Love that they got the whole cast back, it’s no surprise since they’ve always said they adored working on the movie and it was made before most of them became huge but it’s crazy looking at that lineup. Also it’s obvious where alllll of that giant Netflix animation budget went now, they still blow as a company but at least they got this made and they didn’t half ass it.

Damn if that trailer didn’t get me amped. Superbly edited

So excited for this production!
What a great trailer. Love seeing this art style in motion
Slightly disappointed that it isn’t a more faithful adaptation of the comics, but still really excited too. I can’t wait
Maybe it was just the Mortal Kombat theme remix, but that was one of the hypest trailers I’ve seen in a minute.
This trailer was so fucking good, it might actually do a disservice to the show itself. No way the show lives up to it.
That said… I can’t believe it looks like they got everyone back! This is going to be so dope!
much better trailer than the first one. first trailer had me worried, this trailer has me hyped.

Something to finally be excited about with Netflix
If the entire trailer was just the cast list I’d still watch it the second it released.

Why do they want to fight so bad?
Loved the movie, never read the comic. Unbelievably HYPED.
YEESSSSSS. gonna read the graphic novel in preparation
Yes, please yes
This trailer is amazing, I’ve not been more excited to see something animated since DBS: Super Hero
The movie was already a perfect telling of this story. For some reason I thought this series would be different..
