Redd Foxx always reminded me of Rodney Dangerfield. Both were innately funny men with strong personas, who could make you laugh no matter how good the material. They also both had chips on their shoulders because they didn’t make it big until late middle-age.
“So one day, a white missionary goes to Africa to preach. And everything is going good, until one day, a white baby is born to the village of native black people.
The villagers get upset, and bring the missionary to the village chief. The chief says “how do you explain this?”
The missionary, realizing his time has run out, and he has to think of something good, looks out, and sees a flock of white sheep, with one black sheep. So he says to the chief “I don’t know how color works, but sometimes babies aren’t born the right color. ” He points to the black sheep, and starts to explain albinism, genetics, and whatnot.
The chief looks at the sheep, then at the missionary, and says, “I don’t understand what you just said, but I’ll keep your secret, if you keep mine.”
This show is still hilarious today. Just don’t get offended by the comedy of the time. Picking on other races and demographics wasn’t reason for world war 3 back then. It was done to celebrate our differences and get a laugh
To a DEEEE-LUXE apartment in the sky-hyy
You big dummy!!
One of the few US remakes of a British comedy that actually worked. It was bloody good, and a perfect example of how such things should be done.
Oh it’s a big one!
Sanford is Redd Foxx’s real name.
The OG GOAT

One day I started imagining what would happen if Fred decided to run D&D for the rest of the show’s cast. It was hilarious.
More jazzy looking in b&w
This classic show is timeless, still relevant, funny, and way cool. Fred G!
