Saint Peter’s, a 15-seed who had never won an NCAA Tournament game and was an 18.5-point underdog, upsets second-seeded Kentucky in the Round of 64.

Right after the game the coach for St. Peters said something like his players “have a chip on their shoulder because they think they can play for Kentucky.”
If you can’t join em, beat em.
Wow.
RIP most brackets.
A quick comparison of the two programs:
Kentucky has eight National Championships to its credit. Saint Peters had only been to three NCAA Tournaments in their history before today.
Saint Peter’s budget is $1.57 million. That’s the lowest of any team in the tournament and one of the lowest in Division 1 basketball. Kentucky’s budget is $18.3 million.
144 players from Kentucky have been drafted in the NBA. Saint Peters has never had a player get picked higher than 35th, and that was in 1958. The last time anyone got drafted from there was 1984, in the 10th round. Keep in mind that the NBA draft went down to 2 rounds in 1989.
The Vols fans are never going to let this go
I have nothing against the Wildcats but you gotta love it. Unless you’re a KY fan of course.
A quick comparison:
University of Kentucky Wildcats are in Lexington, Kentucky
Saint Peter’s Peacocks are in…(checks notes)…. Jersey?
Now I feel bad. I was taunting UK fans with Laettner’s shot an hour ago.
This brings me joy. I love a good underdog!
I was watching the game and I started rooting for St Peter’s cuz they have a guy that looks like a 70s porn star.
That was no fluke. Peacocks went toe to toe with them all game
Imagine how many brackets are gone
Lol I had Kentucky winning the whole thing (then again I don’t really follow basketball and just picked mostly at random)
There are two kinds of people without busted brackets: the religious that gamble and those that pick based on mascot.
Tonight, about 90% of peoples brackets were laid to rest.
Upsets are awesome.
According to the NCAA, 6% of brackets had Kentucky winning the whole thing, while only 3% had St Peters winning in the first round. Madness.
This is why I love March Madness. You will always see an upset.
