SCALD was formed in 1993 in Yaroslavl, Russia. The band created their unique style known as “ancient doom metal” and recorded their debut album “Will of the Gods is Great Power”, which in the following years gained a cult status. Due to the tragic death of Agyl (vocals) in 1997 the band split up, but re-united in 2019 with Felipe Plaza Kutzbach of Procession on vocals to work on new material.
I guess you could say they were the pioneers of ‘ancient doom metal’. Talk about being ahead of their time!
