Malcolm X was more skeptical and claimed the US wouldn’t integrate because black people were used collectively as political pawns.

The US took MLK’s side and pushed for integration.
The US adopted the African American label in 1989, roughly 23 years after the Civil Rights movement.

‘Black’ people in the US never asked for the label or to be culturally segregated which is what happened as a result of the US adopting the label.
It proved Malcolm X was right. The only reason this picture is posted is to draw sympathy from young left leaning Americans to crap on older right leaning Americans.
