You haven’t seen product placement until you’ve seen Korean dramas. Holy smokes, they had actors hawking everything from Dyson vacuums, to Subway and Papa Johns, to health products (supplements and those expensive massage chairs) and the always present coffee packs.
One show had the male lead in a coma dreaming of a date with the woman he liked …. at Subway. I rolled my eyes so hard.
I worked at Subway when this came out and we thought it was kinda taking a jab at obesity. He ordered five footlongs, and they weren’t the healthiest options. It’s definitely product placement, but they’re also showing how eating too much Subway ain’t a good idea. Idk, i always felt that joke was in there.
I haven’t regularly watched non-streaming TV in at least a decade but that is easily the cringiest product placement I’ve ever seen in TV.
Not quite as bad as Mac & Me though. When they just stop the movie to do a [a three minute dance routine in a McDonalds including Ronald McDonald.](https://youtu.be/tPgRnFg8ZTU) That’s just the most egregious scene but the whole movie is packed with unsubtle product placement.

Community did a far better job with product placement by making it part of the joke. I’d still eat at Subway if they had a $5 footlong instead of $7.99 shitlong.
If there was ever a character suited to this kind of thing, though, Kamekona was him.
I mean, the guy was constantly shilling something in-universe, so why not use him for the same purpose at a meta level?
Sort of like Leo Getz in Lethal Weapon 2, though… the product gets associated with the guy who’s always got an angle, acts as comedy relief, and is often seen as kind of annoying.
Subway isn’t really smart when it comes to this stuff.
Had to stop watching this show after 2-3 episodes in season 1. Wanted it to be good, but oh my god was it so fucking awful. This is just shameful and sad.
Wait. Is that like… **in** the show itself, like… part of the plot?
i’m sorry? why mention jared from subway? didn’t he molest?
That show was basically just an elaborate infomercial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfHuZ5qrYX4

What’s kinda funny is that dude is huge and he could actually stand to share one with the lady in that scene who is really petite/thin.
Kind of makes you hungry for…anything other than Subway.
There’s no way that scene was aired on a legitimate TV show.
Worst I’ve ever seen was in one of the Transformers movies where they kept doing slow pans of a bud lite truck that had spilled all over. Cringe shit.
Another bad one from designated survivor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjP96Hhl-Bg

He’s making some good points about these Subway ™ sandwiches. Eat Fresh.
Terrible Subway product placement? Chuck would like to have a word.
Cougar Town did this EXACT same thing.
Jared Fogle’s subway career started the same way it ended. Trying to get into a smaller pair of pants.
*NB: shamelessly stolen/reposted*
By Reddit standards, wouldn’t this post technically be considered product promotion?
I can’t believe Lt. Boomer has fallen so far, working for that frackin’ police department.
He doesn’t know that she’s a cylon.

>”It worked for Jared….”
So here’s the deal with Jared…

I love how the actors are questioning him about it. You can really tell there just wtf
Ah, fond memories of the [“Royal Pains” Autotrader](https://www.avclub.com/product-placement-creep-or-the-cast-of-royal-pains-ha-1798273063) scene.

This one in vampire diaries https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xKnvOhulBs
Did Michael Bay direct this episode?

I literally stopped watching this show after they pulled that Bs on me
Reminds me of 30 rock except Liz Lemon would turn to the camera and say “can we have our money now” lmao
Honestly that blatant product placement makes me not want to go there, but a regular commercial, I’m okay with…its where it belongs.
RIP
“IT’S A WONDERFUL RESTAURANT”
Man, and I thought Chuck was bad with that!
Fringe was a show I watched years ago, and it had one for Nissan. I still hated that.

I loved the product placement in 30 Rock.
They lampshaded it so hard, and turned it into a joke in itself.
The epitome of bad product placement and how to piss off an audience.
Nissan Versa!! Loved Heroes..
The last like 3 seasons of “Chuck” were all hilariously bad Subway commercials.
I watched exactly 1/2 of 2 shows, couldn’t finish an episode.
The Rookie has one but for Toyota.
This is how it is done: everything is completely normal in these scenes

Mentioning Jerry did not age well.
