So she’s seeing a spectre of her dead husband/partner? IDK but looks interesting.
I’ve heard this one was great and I will watch anything with Rebecca Hall, so I’m hyped!
This was my favorite film I saw at Sundance this year. It’s incredibly freaky/upsetting, and Hall is *amazing* in it.
“It’s been twenty-two years, honeybunny”
I know nothing about this movie, but from watching that trailer I really want Tim Roth to be a normal guy who had a bad relationship with Rebecca Hall more than two decades ago, and she’s built it up in her head into him being some kind of monster. She becomes the real monster, trying to eliminate this threat who’s just an older guy attending business conferences, walking home from his local diner, and generally living a good, quiet life.
Saw this a month ago at a film festival. This was a weird one, and I am dying to discuss this over with someone.
I saw this at Sundance back in January and it’s fucking bananas. One of the wildest horror movies I’ve seen in a while (I’ve heard it called this year’s Malignant, and while it’s a very different kind of movie, that’s not far from the truth).
Rebecca Hall gives maybe the best performance of her career here, and when she inevitably doesn’t get nominated for an Oscar because the Academy hates horror movies, it’ll be a Toni Collette in Hereditary-level snub.
Hall was so formidable in The Night House. Gonna keep this movie on my watchlist.
I don’t say this lightly, but I genuinely think Rebecca Hall is the best actress working right now.
Damn this looks good. Would have been cheesed out if the trailer started with a big “A24” logo, but the cinematography/tension/acting look amazing. Cinematography reminds me of Denis Villeneuve/Tak Fujimoto. This feels like the sort of stalking dread and anxiety Alex Garland tried to evoke with “Men”, tho those trailers come off as cheesy. This looks like something special. Tho why is this a Shudder release? Doesn’t Shudder do more low budget cheapie horror films?
