Years ago I had a Japanese metal puzzle I got from ThinkGeek (RIP). I couldn’t figure out how to get it apart, so I kept it in my pocket at work. Just walking around got it to fall apart. Eventually figured out that all I needed to do was spin it, but loosely carrying it while walking does the same thing.
It’s almost always spinning that’s the trick.

i was gonna say use a paper clip, but i guess spinning works as well.

Literally every puzzle I get, I spin it first to see if that solves it. Yes, even jigsaw puzzles.
