Wait there’s gonna be a bioshock show?
You’ll change your tune when Zelda comes out in 2025🧚🏼♀️🗡
I’m only really optimistic about The Cuphead Show.
Arcane is a masterpiece
I don’t even play LoL but still is one of my favorite shows in general
The pandemic definitely showed people how good gaming is. I think it was of the only industries to turn a bigger profit. I imagine the only other people making good money from that were divorce lawyers.
Yeah…I wonder which one will be the first to be “high art”. Like held up there with Citizen Kane. Which will be the true break through like lion king, and which will simple be a peak of film making like Alien or fight club.
Arcane is French, not Hollywood. Maybe that’s why it’s so good.
7 of them aren’t out so we have no idea if they are any good.
Only Arcane is arguably must see and not every one is into that style of show.
Witcher swings from good to poor.
MK is mediocre at best and Uncharted is supposed to be pretty poor.
Free Guy is terrible.
Shows/film based on game ip still need a lot of work and just try to get by on fans showing up.
Half of them are netflix originals
Wouldn’t include the witcher on this list, games aren’t where it started
Gonna have to pint out, last of us and uncharted are pretty much trying to be Hollywood movies that have a game attached to them.
Free Guy surprisingly not that bad. Not especially great, but worth a watch.
Remember when nearly every big movie had a [licensed game](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_games_based_on_films).
Just need people who actually cared about the source material or knew anything about it.
How the turn tables
To be fair some of those are actually pretty good.
Arcane is god damn amazing and i hate league, but Arcane is the best show hands down that ive seen in years.
Witcher S1 was great, S2 was sloppy but alright. (though idk if its fair to say its a video game thing, it was books/short stories first)
Arcane is the only one that was amazing. Witcher is solid, but isn’t close to either source material.
It’s because Hollywood ran out of ideas.
They still do, now more than ever. Also Witcher is based on a book.
Anyone here that was into gaming long before it became cool / accepted by the masses?
If so congrats on being ahead of the curve.
Others merely adopted the gaming life… We were born in it!
WHERE THE HECK IS CASTLEVANIA?!!???! Its soooooooooooo good!!!!!
you put free guy but not the DOTA 2 show? What is this shit.
God I hope the Mario movie is good
Like.. Fucking hell Nintendo why did you go to the guys who made Minions out of all the companies??
Edit: also, detective Pikachu was pretty good and I haven’t even played a single pokemon game in my life lol
Witcher is a Book adaptation
You forgot Dota and Castlevania
and what about Detective Pikachu?
TV shows aren’t hollywood…..
Sonic 3?
Free Guy doesn’t really count if we’re talking pure video game movies. Or if you include it, you must include both movies from Wreck-It-Ralph and Jumanji (Rock version).
Also, I think most would agree Arcane is currently the best video game adaptation so far. Castlevania didn’t really do much for me though (also on Netflix).
The Witcher is based more on the book series otherwise good choices
is cuphead show out?
I’m just going to assume any show that is League of Legends base is just going to be as toxic as it’s fan base and give it a pass.
Upvote me if you disagree with this line of thinking. Downvote me if you think I’m right as well as feeling like anyone else who watches this show is just as toxic.
