These guys look like rockers. Rockers did not like rap. We damn sure wouldn’t be seen cruisin’ around with it cranked up Bohemian Rhapsody/Wayne’s World style. We saw rap as the enemy of rock, a new threat fresh off our victory over disco. My darker-skinned friends liked rap. Bootsy, Sugar Hill, etc. All brilliant music I absolutely hated at the time in the name of ROCK N ROLL supremacy … and maybe a dash of racism. sorry, I grew up in 1960’s North Carolina.
