This feels like they were trying to be more of a “traditional” rock band back then. Pablo Honey is so much different than even The Bends, then OK Computer blowing everyone away. They just have continued to grow and evolve as a band and it’s been great to watch. Thom Yorke is a creative mind that’s once in a generation. Not to say they haven’t had all hits, but some are just great experiments.
My friend and I had tickets to see Radiohead (who only had this song out at the time) at our university gym a night or two after this aired. I told my buddy that the show was going to suck because I saw them on Conan and they didn’t sound very good live. We went anyway, there was a crowd of maybe two hundred kids. They kicked ass. I still remember those moments because it taught me not to rate a band based on a single appearance.
I love that the guitarist hated the song and purposefully played the refrain weird and badly. The bizarre pick scrape and off key playing is what makes the whole song. If he’d played it right, no-one would remember the song.
I like this song and a lot of songs from Radiohead, but this is really really bad in my opinion. The singing is so over the top and pretentious, and they all look like chariacatures of depressed teenagers. So slow and drawn out as well.. it’s like a bad cover band
This isnt very good to be honest. The singing is off and he is trying to act too much for some reason and Greenwood is so busy being weird that he is out of tune more than he is in tune, hitting wrongs strings and notes all over the place.
Thank god that they not only got better, but became masters of the craft. This video, I dont have to see ever again.
Blonde Thom.
Likely one of there least good pieces of music, yet the most famous.

Greenwood is playing a guitar. I remember those days.
damn
Radiohead has had the unique ability to get better and better over the years and still remain relevant

Why does the lead singer look like a fake person?
I saw Radiohead 3/24/96 and they were incredible.
Before Robert Pattinson was an actor, he was the bass player for Radiohead.

Thom Yorke looks kinda like Martin Short here.
Damn. Live vs studio is such a difference
Not many songs make the hairs on my neck and arms stand up…”Creep”…does this. I wish I knew why this is.

Greenwood punishing those strings

One of the best bands you’ll ever see live.
Always worth a callout — my [favorite cover](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXlzci1rKNM) of “Creep,” by Daniel Mustard.
Patrice O’Neal’s bit about how white people love Radiohead is hilarious.
Used to wonder why he was calling himself a widowwww
I’ve always like PMJ’s take: https://youtu.be/m3lF2qEA2cw
The Air That I Breathe is a great song tbf
Patrice o’ Neal said it best. [Creep](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1qKy4cMPUI)
I love this video of Conan playing creep where his band joins in impromptu. Not sure why I can’t find it on the official channel anymore.
