Nothing funny about that lady. She saved a whole bunch of Jews during ww2, was sent to a concentration camp herself for it. Her sister died there. She’s honored as among the righteous of nations at Yad Vashem. She met with some of the German camp guards and forgave them. Yes, the use of the word “tramp” is antiquated, but to relegate this woman to the fun-heap for it is really gross.
Her family hid Jews in their home and were caught. Corrie’s whole family died in concentration camps. Corrie was released because of a clerical error. Rather than be bitter, Corrie devoted her life to teaching and serving others. When the Jews were freed from concentration camps, tent cities were set up for them in places like gymnasiums. Corrie chose to stay in one of them for the sole purpose of helping those who lived there.
I love this book so much. I have read it every time I have been feeling really down. I always think of “Thank God for the fleas” from her sister. It is a profound lesson.
I will always remember her describing her sisters death.
Her sister was dirty, disheveled and malnourished due to the treatment from the camp, but when she finally had died Corrie took one last look at her face and noticed she looked more beautiful than she ever had before in her life. Her face was full and looked at peace.
I can’t imagine the pain of losing loved ones, but that’s how I hope to see any of my family off. She was inspiring.
This lady is actually a verified hero. A Dutch watchmaker and devout Christian who helped Jews escape the holocaust.
Corrie Ten Boom is the real deal…
Always walked it exactly like she talked it.
What’s funny about Corrie ten Boom?
Love Corrie ten Boom. What a hero.
Years ago a tramp meant a poor person, having little to no earthly belongings, like a drifter or hobo
I don’t think OP knows.
You need to look her up, she’s a very brave woman and worthy of your respect, not ridicule.
Corrie ten Boom was legit. Such a cool lady.
Bro that’s not the one you want to make fun of.
How to embarrass yourself on reddit.
Let’s hope he actually is able to read it.
Whoa! Corrie ten Boom! One of the angels on earth. A true heroine.

Yeah don’t bash Corrie! She forgives you tho.
She’s the Protestant version of Mother Theresa, fr!
Read the book

Read it, great story
I had to read the hiding place for school in 8th grade
Op didn’t even read the blurb, I went the house where it took place, super cool.
This and The Hiding Place are two of the most inspiring books I’ve ever read.
One of the best books I have ever read. It really challenged my faith.
Reddit seems to be filled with ignoramus
This is a dumb post but at least people are more curious about who Ten Boom is.
The movie about her was absolutely incredible too.
My mother read her books to us.

Glad to see so many positive comments. I was afraid people wouldn’t know and respect who this is.
Whoo boy, OP gonna have a hard time claiming this was ironic. Bet you all this gets deleted soon.
r/therewasanattemp to laugh at a hero of the Holocaust.
