Idk what people expect sometimes. If you tell me the bathrooms are disgusting I’ll let somebody know. But that is not my job to get up and immediately clean it.
This comic doesn’t land right… why wouldn’t she ask the cleaner/maintenance? There should already be someone to do that job. It would have been better if she said “I’ll call maintenance but they’re not in until the morning” or some such. And *why is she so small?*
I remember at my first job I was going to the bathroom as a customer came out. He was so made and told me the bathroom was disgusting and pointing to the cleaning sheet no one ever filled out. I just said ummm ok, Ill let someone know and went on my way. He was so pissed, he clearly expected me to apologize and clean it myself.
Idk what people expect some times. I worked at movie theater in high-school, literally hundreds of people leaving at the same time. “The bathrooms dirty, smells like shit in there!” Sorry buddy, wait until you find out what people are going in there to do…
I saw some people confused why the customer is wrong, so as a former retail worker let me explain. It is fine to point out the bathrooms are dirty, but do not say how it should be handled. People are hired with specific job descriptions and if they don’t want to go beyond that it is totally acceptable. Let the company solve the problem, you are only dealing with the problem this one time, say your piece and let it go.
I used to work at a retail store. If someone complained in the middle of the day that there was an issue with the bathrooms, our store manager would stop what he was doing and clean them himself.
I had a lot of respect for that manager. He would do anything in the store that needed doing. No task was beneath him.
Yes, let’s bitch at the minimum wage employee instead of the manager or owner who is responsible for the condition of the establishment.
F these people and their mentality.
Public bathrooms are a different issue, but if you’re using a community bathroom at a work place it is your job to clean up after yourself in said bathroom.
Where I use to work someone didn’t quite make it to the toilet and shat on the floor. I’m a sleep tech and I do all the study parts, set up, recording, reporting, CPAP and oxygen equipment use and cleaning and everything else that goes along with that job. No where are there any requirements or expectations for janitorial work in my position so I wasn’t about to go and clean a huge pile of shit off the floor, I hate to say it but that is not in my job description and I think that’s reasonable. I informed the day staff and put a sign on the bathroom door (we had 2 bathrooms so 1 was still available) saying the bathroom was out of order. A couple days later the scheduler messaged me, very upset, and said I should have cleaned it up and then the boss messaged and said it was unprofessional of me to leave it like that. I told them both that I have a license that I worked very hard to obtain (I’m a respiratory therapist, not a RPSGT/sleep tech, my license is….harder to obtain) and that they should never have had the expectation for me to clean some random Pts feces off the floor and they should have payed attention to the message I left them. I think the scheduler had to end up cleaning the bathroom and got mad that I didn’t, but I don’t feel like they should have expected that from me, most medical facilities have a cleaning crew so I don’t think I was being out of line there.

Provide sponges and cleaners for the guests.
Win win
1. The lady in pink is closer to you to force prospective. 2. The lady in green is like 4 ft tall
3. The lady in pink is like 7 ft tall
Because that is the job of the janitor, who was hired to do just that
Cause they aren’t paying me to do that.

This is fucking stupid. Do people think this shit is actually funny? I understand the new comic rule now.
“My job description requires that I deal with your vocal shit, not your literal shit”.
This make no sense
This also applies to the fridge at work.
This cartoonist needs to give up, I just checked their website every comic is like this, no punchline just a stupid situation.
How did 700 people up vote this crap?
And the public wonder why businesses don’t open their bathrooms to the public…
This is not funny

Not in my job description to clean bathrooms.

most bathrooms are disgusting because of the customers who use them. Your mom doesn’t work there – clean up / pickup after yourself.
When I worked at Blockbuster, a customer messed up the bathroom pretty good. I think it was puke.
I never found out because I said I would quit before I cleaned up a mess like that.
I kept my job
The correct response is “No I can’t go clean those bathrooms. I am needed here.”

Lol the fuck is wrong with the lady asking her to clean it? If the company wants things to be sanitary then hire a damn professional
Why didn’t they already have a janitor?
Not my job, and I don’t get paid enough for it.
2 types of people will read this and will say the opposite thing. The answer is it’s not their job.
I had the displeasure of cleaning public bathrooms when I worked at the local arcade.
I applaud anyone who is a full time janitor because it’s a thankless job that needs to get done.
Public bathrooms are disgusting because, on average, the public is disgusting
Everyone’s arguing over the context of the comic. But no one’s pointing out it’s just a shitty unfunny comic

they day they tell me to clean the bathrooms is the day I clean out my desk. Not going to happen.
well, ok not anymore since I work at home and my bathroom here could be cleaned, and my desk is my own, but, wait, what were we talking about?
