Prince has such a special significance to Minnesotans, and it’s because he got famous and stayed here because “It’s so cold it keeps the bad people out.”
After seeing my neighbors dig each other out of the ditch, or shoveling their neighbor’s sidewalk this last snowstorm, it’s totally true. You have to be a little crazy to live here full time, but it’s a community-minded craziness that keeps us all here.
I’ve always wondered what it would have been like being a fan of his at his highest point and opening the door to find him proselytizing his JW beliefs.
At the time people were surprised that he could run that fast in heels, little did they know he played basketball in those heels and followed it up with a pancake breakfast.
I love Prince and Minnesota, and am old, and just want to say that no one was taking black and white pictures in 1994 except for the occasional artsy photo session.
I also love this sub, but I don’t understand all the b&w photos posted from the 70’s forward.
