I miss oldschool FFXI. Not necessarily the grind, but I had some pretty active and good friends on there that have long since moved on.
Sometimes I think I might renew on PC just to finish off the few main quest storylines but then just go back to soloing about 14.
I spend so many days in this game.. stopped after weeks of intense teamplay on Virtue (failed), around 912days of play when i left Asura server for good.. .
My first MMO that I put way too much time in. I remember reading the Order of the Blue Gartr forums on the game even when I wasn’t playing.
Beastmaster was my favorite job since I didn’t have to join an exp party. I did level up other jobs, but BST helped me explore way more than grind camp locations.
Dynamis, Sky, Sea… such insane Raiding for that time. I remember Byakko Haidates were the pants for the longest time. I ended up leaving around Wings of the Goddess era.
The official illustrations from Yoshitaka Amano were 👌.
Kraken club, Joyeuse, Kirin’s Osode, Leaping boots, Emperor’s hairpin were RA/EX Gear names that I won’t forget. Crazy that we’d camp Notorious Monsters for hours… This game was punishing, too. Failing crafting, NM drop rates, botters and RMT claiming the NM.
I should go watch a YouTube video of the storyline. That was pretty epic storytelling

This is shocking to me. Games on Ps2 received updates? I only ever had a ps2 slim.
