Man the PS3 was fucking amazing. Unlike the lame PS5 that just has cutscene generator games. You guys remember Killzone 2and 3, Little Big Planet, God of War 3, Uncharted trilogy, Resistance trilogy, MAG, SOCOM???

Damn man…. How far SONY has fallen. Shame. Shame. I haven’t played my PS5 in like 4 months.
I remember being a 14 year old kid in 2006 and when the PS3 got launched, my little brother had his communion party that week and received gifts and cash money so I convinced him we should buy a PS3, later that day I had €600 in my pocket and me and my friend were driving on our bikes to the local gaming shop. There were some older guys in the shop, around 18 I guess trying out the brand new PlayStation, they couldn’t believe it when I put the money on the counter and bought it lmao. Great childhood memory ..
I don’t remember this particular issue but I used to fucking live off these mages pre-internet days. I wish they’d bring them back, I would 100% subscribe again if they made it worth it.
I spent 500 on my ps3 back then with my first ever salary, and we still bust it out every now and then to clear some waves on MW3 or whatever. Proven to be very durable and reliable, to me it was worth every penny
I feel like games had a lot more mystery to them back then, before the internet made us know everything. I was also young and everything was new to me.
I got mine in Christmas of 2008. Believe Home was a thing back then. Had an online friend back then drop an assload of money on his space. And to think he had nothing to show for it once Home was discontinued.
It was truly my moment that clicked that I shouldn’t spend money on in game items.
Thet generation, as great as the games were was a reallly rough transition when it came to hardware. Between the red ring of death and some other issues with the fat PS3, it was really annoying.
The PS3 was worth it though. Kinda like how the PS2 was cheaper than a DVD player when it came out, the PS3 was cheaper than a Blu-Ray player. The fat one ($600 version) also had backwards compatibility with PS2 games and PS1 games.
it was $999 in australia at the time. Got a japanese limited edition with 54GB instead of the usual round number like 80GB. Also it overheated a fucktonne.
Infamous games, Uncharted games, Sly Cooper trilogy and Thieves in Time, Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, Prototype 1 and 2 (WHERE THE HELL IS 3 AT), the list just goes ON. Black Ops 2 multiplayer was THE shit.
Mann 600$ back in 2006, Sony were not cooking back then
Seems clear now why the 360 seemed to dominate this era

Does someone have a picture of page 93? I want to know how to win a ps3…
I loved my fat PS3 and to me it was worth it. First game was Uncharted.
It really wasn’t worth it for the first year unless you just wanted a Blu Ray player.
Wtf is assassin’s Creed mercenaries?
It absolutely was worth it, standalone BR players cost more than that at the time so even just to play BR it was worth it.
It was worth it when I paid $300 for it. I bought the 360 at launch then waited on the PS3 until the Slim.
I miss game magazines
FF13? A new release? Wasn’t it released in the end of 2009 in Japan? Three years after this. And 2010 worldwide, actually. Crazy.

Dropping in to recognize Mercenaries 2 as one of my favorite childhood games and beg the gaming gods to remaster it.

This is what helped make the 360 era so good, everyone had one beginning console cycles. So great.
Oh I ‘membah [this gem](https://youtu.be/cNtLvHheias?feature=shared)
I was earning €180 per week back then, still bought one.
Insane that I was making $8 an hour do them and I still managed to buy a $600 damn console, two weeks worth of wages, lol
It was SO worth it.
I feel like the answer is no. But this magazine concluded “yes!”
We get 1 gta per console generation
Oh god I just aged a decade by looking at this. FF12 and FF13. I remember waiting in anticipation for them. I feel so old now
Dat PS Triple
Ehhh final fantasy Xiii? Meh , really meh. I had more fun with xii
I bought a ps3 60gb purely to complete my mgs story love.
I also maxed out my student loan and credit card for a 50inch plasma and 7.1 surround sound.
First year of uni social group? Non existsnt.
Lalelulalililolololulululale
Literally a supercomputer
FYI $600 in 2006 is $915 today

I still own the fat Lady and about 50 Games. But it’s all nearly worthless since they added all the old Games to the store.

Im thinking of picking one up.

I wonder if the magazine whose existence depends on there being a PlayStation user base will conclude it is worth it to buy a PlayStation.
I just refuse to believe ps3 came out in 2006.
It is worth $600, at least because of backward compatibility.
I remember this magazine or one similar where they had a double page literally doing a cost breakdown of what makes up the RRP of the PS3
i have 2 tilt controllers.. ‘SIXAXIS’
