Playing Deus Ex for the first time, shocked to see how expensive the devs thought gas would be in the far-off dystopian 2050s…

Where I live that would be cheap even before this most recent price Surge
Surprising as another commenter said.. this is a bit cheaper than gas I bought today lol
Around the time Deus Ex was released, people used to get outraged at gas being 3 bucks a gallon. I mean, I guess the premium could cost that, but most people went by regular
Never played it so I thought this was a pic and I was jealous it was so cheap
These were the gas prices in summer of 2008.
If only they had managed to invent a type of vehicle that could run on energy from a variety of sources converted to electricity…but that shits for betas so gas it is bend over and take it.
Optimists.
We are at 2,50€/L in Europe.
Well if you get Saudi dick out of the politicians pockets then we can use North American oil sands to drive up supply and lower gasoline prices. But nope, not gonna happen because they’ll push myths that it’s bad when in reality that is foreign propaganda to protect Saudi oil industry.
*Looks like someone just reinstalled*
Lmfao $4.21 was the price today and $4.25 yesterday
Think in Crysis 2 during the opening you can see a glimpse of a gas station and the price for a gallon of gas was right around $20… and I think that games setting took place around 2020
Did those fools really think gas companies would give up that 3/10 of a cent…
Reminds me of the tabletop RPG Shadowrun. Between two of the editions they had to completely rewrite the processing power of the computers that were available, because we had started to get close to them IRL. At the time the game was set in the 2050s, and the game was released in the 1990s.
Where I live it’s about $5 for a gallon of diesel so that’s pretty cool
It’s possible that it’s $3.95 per liter which would be equivalent to a monstrous $14.95 per gallon
That was the price yesterday!
Wait am I an NPC in Deus world?
