If you like that kind of stuff, I recommend Sigur Ros. They like to do that kind of thing in their music. January 29, 2022 at 5:24 pm Reply
You can really only do that on the top and bottom string, since the bridge and fingerboard are flat. Bowing works much better on a double bass with curved bridge and fingerboard, which allows you to bow each string individually. January 29, 2022 at 5:27 pm Reply

Katie, what was that thing you were playing today, the big thing? Cello. Ok. This is a bass guitar. And it’s the exact same thing but instead of playing it like this you tip it on the side… CELLLOOOO, you got a bass. January 29, 2022 at 7:23 pm Reply
I mean, this has been a thing for quite some time. https://music.unt.edu/sites/default/files/styles/spotlight_full/public/16_Concert_Orchestra_0036_bass_scaled_1.jpg?itok=UaiE_yWw January 29, 2022 at 7:33 pm Reply

WHAT IF, we took bass strings, then put them on like a wood…. and also made it upright?! Crazy. January 29, 2022 at 8:46 pm Reply
[Jónsi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%B3nsi), of Sigur Rós, is famous for using this technique. He produces some very haunting music with it. January 29, 2022 at 9:10 pm Reply
Charles Berthoud is just on another level entirely. His playing, how he arranges songs for the bass… such a fantastic and fun musician. January 29, 2022 at 9:48 pm Reply
Electric guitar also sounds sick when played with a bow. I know Led Zeppelin did it and some other people. Someone should try to play a banjo with a bow. January 29, 2022 at 9:58 pm Reply
That’s cool I’ve never tried taking my bow to my guitar. I think we’ll give it a try tonight. January 29, 2022 at 11:11 pm Reply
Is this snippet from, or inspired by, an actual song? Quite beautiful January 30, 2022 at 12:48 am Reply
Stand up bass is also played with a bow sometimes. It’s gorgeous. Loved the cellos too. Sauce: played violin in a few orchestras January 30, 2022 at 5:35 am Reply

Did you have to use a resin on the strings?
Very cool. Love it!

Sigur Rós do this really well too.
Does the rosin on the bow damage the guitar in anyway
That’s cool I’ve never tried taking my bow to my guitar. I think we’ll give it a try tonight.
Sigur Ros vibes.

Look up Les Claypool if you want to see it done non-Cello
Stand up bass is also played with a bow sometimes. It’s gorgeous. Loved the cellos too.
Sauce: played violin in a few orchestras
I like your musical instruments and the melody very much
Next level: fretless.

Sigur Ros did this for a bunch of their music.
