Peter Weller, he’s that dude from Robocop right? Yeah I remember him. What about Buckaroo Banzai though? Never heard of it. Is it like a sci-fi thing or something?
I see Buckaroo Banzai, I upvote! I loved every single thing about this movie, and I still watch it about once a year. Brilliant action-adventure-comedy-thriller-sci fi-farce-historical-romance-docudrama 😂
Greatest [end credits](https://youtu.be/ah6TYuJ1iQg?si=VwG-jbyqUW8ktaBh) in movie history. (They were walking to “Uptown Girl” because the composer hadn’t written the end theme yet). Watched this for the first time a couple of years ago and *loved* it. The scene with the band playing had a different cinematographer so it looked like it came from a different movie (it was Jordan Cronenweth who worked on “Blade Runner”).
The tone of buckaroo bonsai is great- it’s odd yet assured. I agree with the comparisons to Big Trouble in little China. It’s as if it were made in a parallel universe
I’m so glad this movie seems to be having a resurgence. Watched it with my dad as a kid. Still watch it every year or so and it holds up so well. Just wish it got more traction at the time to make it the series it was supposed to be
My late mother, my uncle, and myself would absolutely geek out over this movie – It holds such a lovely and absurd place in my memories as something that felt like like it was made just for us. A joke that only we got and a treatise that only we understood.
In my top 5. I was a Blue Blaze Irregular, got the few Banzai Institute Newsletters that were produced and cosplayed BB at conventions before it was even called cosplay! I was fortunate to hear W.D. Richter speak at a con in Cambridge, MA and got his autograph.
Every 30 seconds there was a throw away line-fantastic!. I heard that Jeff Goldblum used to perform jazz with Peter Weller -but that might be a rumor-does anyone know?
I some how missed that back in the day and first watched a few years back in awe. What a magnificently terrible wonder of joy. I had a blast and regret not seeing some forty years ago.
As a kid I found this movie so freakin strange. I tried to get interested but just couldn’t seem to do so. What do you think, guys? Give it another shot?
Definitely the best movie about a rock-and-roll super-scientist crimefighter trying to save the world from a race of aliens all named John.
Is that Robocop?
laugh now, monkey boy!!!!

This was great and I wish it had been longer. But he barely says anything about the movie 🤣
Sealed with a curse as sharp as a knife,
Doomed is your soul and damned is your life
And
They’re all monkey-boys until you invade their planet
God, one of my favorite movies. Slots right into the whole 80s “fantastic reality” vibe.
Bury me with this and Big Trouble in Little China

There is something so beautiful about a movie so loved, yet no one knows what its about. Such a metaphor for life.
I still need to know about the watermelon.

*The World Crime League is still waiting, Peter.*
Buckaroo Banzai is a live action anime [mic drop]
I could have listened to three more hours of him talking about this movie.
Greatest ending in cinema history.
Weird. I just happened to watch this last night when it popped up on Amazon. I’d never heard of it before.
I turned it off after 20 minutes or so. It was so bad it was unwatchable.
Best bad movie ever
[Found the Kevin Smith speech and following q&a he references. Def worth a watch.](https://youtu.be/N8R8wmlggwc?si=1_dOcUcHS3H8y-NZ)
Weller and Lithgow go into more really cool stories.

Screamers is deadly too

Remember, no matter where you go, there you are. —Buckaroo Banzai
The end credits of this movie are hilarious
That guy is magnetic, he didn’t do nearly enough movies 🙁
Really enjoyed this movie. Fun and surprising.
“Wherever you go, there you are.”
Is that quote from this movie? I haven’t thought about this movie in…30 years?
Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension is one of the best movies ever made in this lifetime! Fucking masterpiece
Up until a month ago I thought that was Ted Danson on the cover of that movie
Buckaroo Banzai era Ellen Barkin was stunning.
Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is heavily influenced by Buckaroo. If you’re a fan of either movie, you need to see the other.
Amazing
***Doctor*** Peter Weller, PhD

I love this movie. I tried to get my husband to watch it but he only lasted about 10 mins. I was sad. I considered divorce, but it’s sooo expensive.
Keeping him was easier.

I had the comic book! Always wanted a sequel.
This is one of favorite all time movies
