PC gamer. Moved to a PS5 controller, mainly for F1 and racing games. Any tips for PC?

Just got myself a PS5 controller after reading up that the adaptive triggers can help.m in racing

Took a while for my thumb to learn the new positions.
Have to keep it wired only to get triggers, but i sit close to my computer, so no biggie.

Trying DualsenseX and DS4Windows to experiment.

Also played: Death Stranding and a bit of Returnal. The PS5 controllers are very interesting with haptics, feathery trigger rumble etc.

Does anybody have any general tips for PS5 controllers for PC? Just Day 1 for me here 🙂

I welcome other game recommendations. I’m gonna play Spider-Man, Kena and Control too.

    There r 2 tips I want to give u

1 put something soft onnthe floor around u so when u get raged and throw the controller it’ll hopefully won’t break cuz soft covering(o rage a lot in racing I hate it when I win and at the last second a nice gets a speed best and cut me off right before the finish line)

2 have fun that what matter the most

Spider-Man is excellent but it makes the triggers…weird. Something happens where 85% is normal and the last 15% is almost a click but not quite.

If you use Steam and your controller isn’t connecting to the game, enable Big Picture mode and close it and that will almost always fix the issue.

Steam has settings if the buttons are wrong in games too.

Don’t forget to update the firmware ps5 controller (very unlikely that you haven’t already but this is the best advice from me) , most games will run the haptics (if you mean haptics by triggers) wirelessly, also ds4 needs to be closed if you want wireless haptics, turning the option off from ds4 window does not let Steam treat it as a proper ps5 controller.

Adaptive triggers don’t work in most games on pc. I think only the Sony titles that have released even use it at all.

Ds4 windows is good cuz I use it for borderlands and I haven’t tried anything else because I like it. I have a ps5 but don’t really care for the adaptive triggers only because I want to use as much power as I need to control a car if I play CarX for example, great game, or for cod I want to press it faster than the other guy. Adaptive triggers are nice for single player games in my opinion.

To use all the PS5 features you need to kill DualsenseX service and plug the controller in with a cable. No alternative for now.
