You can’t be held liable for your parents debt after they die. My dad died of cancer in 2020 and we discovered afterwards his finances were a mess, I know. The creditors can try to get money from the deceased’s estate, but not their kids.
Do they really chase people’s estates for their medical bills in the USA? Because at the end, almost everyone needs medical support to extend their life.
There are times I think our pets have it better. People who really love them make the hard call on when it is time so there is no lingering suffering.
Well, it depends on where you live. In Germany you will be held liable for any dept owed by your parents (or any other inheritance), if you choose to take the inheritance. If you refuse and make it offical (notary and a very important step) you lose any and all claims to anything owned and owed by those who passed away. The only thing you have to do, is to pay for the cooling, the doc. who proclaimed death (it’s a fee not his wage) and the burial (including everything from coffin/urn to the guy dropping the urn into the ground). After some 8 days or such the deceased (after not beeing “claimed”) will be burried by the local authorities, after that they will find you and make you pay the bill. So yeah… in some countries you gotta pay those bills (apart from those mentioned healthcare bills as those are covered by the insurance).
Well he still has two more wishes left to correct his mistake
I don’t believe you can be held responsible for anyone else’s debt.
Okay but who the fuck would say the word *somehow* in a monkey’s paw wish

This makes no sense in British.

A rare miss from Mr. Weiner. You can’t be held liable for your parent’s debts.
Why would he go over the mechanics of the monkey paw to himself, then make the vaguest and easiest to corrupt wish he could possibly make?
No you can’t.
May as well wish to live like someone whos dead.

It would have been funny if the paw gave the finger in the last box?
