  • I can honestly say that if I was in my high-school today me and my classmates who I used to make shorts with would probably have like 100 short films on youtube and Vimeo right now. There are no real barriers to entry into making a film today it’s just about getting noticed. Cameras are so fucking cheap now and you can buy good quality lights and mics for nothing. I went to a art school high-school that had a film department. When I was in high-school in like 2008 the digital cameras were absolutely awful and you were at the mercy of the mini DV’s so you had a cap on how much you can shoot. Now you can shoot a pretty competently made short movie on your iPhone. Not even counting how much better special effects software has gotten and the editing software is essentially drag and drop now.
