Season 3 was almost a jump the shark season for me in terms of plot, even though acting and production value was good.
The wife’s bipolar brother being brought in as a wildcard just screamed inorganic plot development to me. Sure, it could happen that there’s an unstable brother, but he’s not mentioned ever before, is sort of orthogonal to the main story of the family getting deeper and deeper into the mafia business and mainly seems there to add random drama and pad out the plot.
It would have been better if it was just a brother who had no issues or if one of the core family members was developing mental issues under the pressures of the family business – but that would require better writing to make interesting and this ain’t Breaking Bad.
They blew me apart with the single trailer.
Now I can’t wait!
