Knowing Nolan and his love for playing with time, I’m predicting the movie will begin right away with the first successful test, then it will jump to the buildup to the test (this segment of the movie shot in black and white) and then will jump forward to just after the test (this segment shot in color) with the reactions to what has just happened, and it’s going to alternate back and forth between the black-and-white pre-test scenes and the color post-test scenes.
Bonus prediction: The first explosion scene at the beginning will either be shot in color, or will begin in black and white and turn to color when the bomb detonates, and then the movie will close with another explosion (either a test or one of the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombs) and as soon as that explosion happens, the film goes to black and white again for the final moments before credits roll.
“And they won’t understand it. Until they’ve used it”. Curious, is Oppenheimer referring to the scientists who don’t yet understand the power of atomic energy that occurred in the Trinity Test?
Looks great but soaring Avengers music was a weird choice tonally. Hopefully the movie itself is a bit more serious and introspective about the weight of the whole thing… like Oppenheimer was.
I am normally not a fan of biopics. They usually play fast and loose with facts and history, often to the point of missing some important details about a particular person’s life. But I’m definitely going to check this out in theaters. I think this is a story worth telling about a man who an entire generation don’t know enough about. And given recent geopolitical events, J. Robert Oppinheimer’s story has never been more relevant.
Different than the leaked trailer I saw earlier in the week.
Regardless, movie looks dope af
can’t wait to watch this! looks so dope
So great to see Jack Quaid getting more film roles.
I was expecting a little “We knew the world will not be the same”.
Josh Peck. Nice.
I wonder how or if they’ll do Louis Slotin’s incident.
Apart from the release date, is there any special significance with the sequence 7, 21, and 23?
The amount of effort that was put into the black hole in Interstellar, I’m pumped to see the visuals in this.
Nixie tubes in the 40s?
I was waiting for the “I am become death” to drop. I guess I’ll have to wait!
I better see Feynman, a group of high school kids and some punch cards.

I hope we see Feynman in the background performing hijinks like breaking into safes and other stuff.
I’m fucking stoked for this. There’s this *excellent* graphic novel called [Trinity](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity:_A_Graphic_History_of_the_First_Atomic_Bomb) for anyone else hungry for more Oppenheimer and the development of the atom bomb.
Does anyone have any idea why these official trailers are almost never uploaded in 4k?

I know I’m gonna be in the minority but I found it utterly boring and pretentious. I couldn’t care less about his journey.
That looks pretty borring but beautiful.
you will explode, by order of the peaky fucking blinders!
Never clicked so quick in my life
I am so hyped for this movie

I’m watching Barbie.
Robbert, it was you all along, you’re the Oppenheimer!
oof, Nolan avoids CGI at all costs, watch out you guys
That….that right there…that’s winning many Oscars.
Why advertise 7 months before the release date! GRrrrr!
Big orchestra sounds drowning out the dialog. Yep, it’s a Christopher Nolan film.
Bring your foam earplugs. This movie is going to be the loudest 2.5 hours of your life.
Can’t wait for this movie.
If you like cool nuclear bomb visuals and weird things, check out Twin Peaks: The Return (season 3) episode 8.
Then watch the rest of all of Twin Peaks.
