The whole country should use roundabouts. It’s just so much quicker.
Yeah they need this at the rotary by my work. Straight idiots. One day I’ll hit someone and it will be their fault. I’m not jamming on my brakes because my car screams at me and the insurance company knows about it.
And if it’s a multi-lane roundabout: YIELD TO BOTH LANES. Never assume the car in the inside lane is going to continue circulating the roundabout.
Then there’s the people in the circle who stop. 🤦
The crazy thing is, that’s EXACTLY what a Yield sign means. Then again, many people are stupid enough to need instructions for a box of toothpicks…
Don’t show this to people in Massachusetts. Their brains might explode. It’s like nobody knows (or cares, more likely) how roundabouts with more than one lane are supposed to work.
I’m always floored at the number of drivers that cannot figure out such a simple, basic concept as a roundabout.
But also don’t just stop and sit there waiting on cars on the opposite side of the roundabout to go past you. Get on the gas and get in there!
W have roundabouts in NJ but we like to keep everything as a battle.
Different roundabout? Different rules! Is your head on a swivel? Boom!
They should add double Dutch to the driving test so people know how to jump in while things are moving.
They just installed one on my morning drive to work. I understand it; but no-one else does. Old lady went the wrong direction yesterday taking a left. Multiple people treating it like a normal straightway. It’s awful. Every day I consider taking an alternate route.
Being a European living in the US, this hits pretty hard. Americans have no clue how roundabouts/rotaries work and it is freaking scary.
Should add another, if no one in roundabout don’t stop. Seen a lot of people treat it like a four way stop.
Roundabouts are a test to expose bad drivers. I’ve seen some crazy stuff using them daily.
I feel like the sign should also say “traffic IN roundabout should not stop”
I live in a town that got roundabouts in the last 15 years, that is also full of old people, they are legit a hazard in those things.
Imean technically traffic from right doesn’t stop either.
Tell that to the old ladies in the round about that stop to let people in around my area.
What really gets me as a European: signs with text on them to explain what they mean.
Why would the symbol for yielding need to tell me it’s a yield sign? Makes it way more visually cluttered and harder to understand at a glance.
