I loved thug but if I were to be honest. I think people really sleep on Proving Ground, that game was underrated as hell for being Neversofts last official game
im mad i never played this. i had THUG 2 and thought it was a masterpiece. In the THPS remaster, they took Bam off the cover of the game in the hangar level and it makes me so sad.
I was ten when this came out. I beat it twelve times. One more time than my best friend who had his own copy. We were obsessed. Games like this make me miss cheat codes. Why don’t we do those anymore?
according to my dad, when i played this game, i played it so long that i memorized the tricks and sound effects that came from those tricks. grinding on something, i’d make a grinding sound, kickflip, i’d make a kickflip sound. i don’t remember my memory of this that well, but he will gladly remind me of the day i would purposefully fall off the “skateboard” and retry the exact same stunt all over again. i dont think i have ever played a game that made me literally attempt to do the stunts in real life.
I broke out my Wii recently so I could share this gem (and a few other of my old GameCube games) with my kiddos. Such a fun game, I got so many blisters playing it.

THUG2 was goat, I remember in the early days of the internet finding out cool Easter eggs I STILL missed after playing dozens of times. Classic!

Ahhh feels like Christmas when I see this box art. This game is one of my all time favorites. The betrayal by Eric is still felt to this day lol
