A performance that doesn’t come up nearly often enough in “best biopic performance” threads.
The first time I took acid we went and saw this movie. 100% would do it again.
Is it worth watching?
I didn’t really like the movie (I think Meg Ryan ruined it for me), but man Val looked amazing! He was born to play Jim!
Say what you want about the movie, but Val nailed it. It’s worth watching just for his performance.
He also nailed it in Wonderland, playing John Holmes.
Val Kilmer is amazing.
I laughed really hard at the scene of him getting sucky sucky in the elevator. My girlfriend was mad.
Val Kilmer is a brilliant actor, that’s how.
“C’MON! How many of you people know your really alive? HOW MANY OF YOU PEOPLE KNOW YOU’RE REALLY ALIVE?”
I love the Doors movie so much. Val Kilmer’s most iconic performance of a tormented musical genius since he portrayed Nick Rivers.
You want my blood!!?
jim would have shrugged after seeing the movie and said “eh. what do i care”
that’s how you know Val nailed it
Val Kilmer doesn’t get enough credit for how awesome of an actor he is. Top Secret is one of my favorites
Val did the singing, too. At times it was more like a possession than a portrayal.
Awesome ✌️
The last line of the movie is fucking gold too…

Can we talk about how Val didn’t get a nomination for best actor?
That narrator sound and has the same speech inflection as that Audit the Audit dude.
Movie doesn’t hold up.
Val knocked it out of the park! Im sure he made Jim proud🥹
One of the best performances of our time in a bio pic and certainly one of the best castings in one ever
No one talks about Val’s most amazing role: Cunth
I had a small cast member part in that movie. I was in the studio when Val was recording his singing parts. I couldn’t believe it was him. It was a remarkable performance.
