The trailer makes this look like a ton of fun, but this poster is pretty bad. I like the idea but why put Matilda in The Trunchbull’s shadow and then light her up as if she’s not in shadow? If I made this is a graphic design class my teacher would slap me.
Never got to see this one on the stage, but I’ll be looking out for this one. Tim Minchin really killed it imo with his contributions to the criminally underrated Groundhog Day musical.
Right. 2022. More dancing. More songs.

For a second I thought it was a Tim Burton Matilda movie…. That would’ve been cool.
Unrelated but Cheaper by the dozen with Steve Martin was really good film, this poster is just very early 2000s to me so it reminded me of it
If its based on the play in London I will properly give it a miss.
No, but thanks for asking
Why are y’all so mean about this? Go listen to the broadway musical it’s pretty cool.
remember when they replaced Ralph Fiennes
Hopefully it’s as good as the Avengers musical
Probably gonna watch this. Looks decent
I’m scared
My wife and I really loved the musical. I trait enjoyed a lot of the technical things they did that won’t transfer to the movie which stinks.
The musical is excellent, and I’m sure this will be enjoyable as well
I had the chance to see Matilda The Musical in Toronto. It’s a real treat. “When I Grow Up” is a beautiful song that had me in tears.
Trunchbull’s shadow looking like Thanos’
I hope there’s still some way to have some of the people from the movie cameo, even if this is based off the musical/novel and as such is in England.
It wouldn’t suspend too many peoples suspension of disbelief if Danny Devito is manning a newspaper stand in London or anything, would it?
smug
Still waiting for Wes Anderson’s Henry sugar movie
Didn’t notice which sub i was on, for a moment there i thought this poster was extremely cursed
Dennis Kelly created Utopia among other great works, and Tim Minchin is amazing. I’ve never even seen Matilda and I might check this out.

Jeez what a terrible poster. The actress literally looks like a cardboard cutout in front of a very fake and bland background

Moby WHAT?!
I surprised she isn’t black
Oh miss honey is black though 😂😂😂
