Kids who build robots are so rad 🤖
oh, Britta directed this?
Putting “Community” in the tagline is a nice nod. The Marvel 616 episode she directed was good so I’m looking forward to this.
Six seasons and this movie?
nice…
Lessgo Gillian this sounds awesome!
Looking forward to this and the movie Gillian co-directed with Ken Jeong and starred in.
Nice
Nice
Why is the first thing i saw in this a 69
Well, the goal was six seasons and a movie…(checks IMDB)…yep, this is a movie
But seriously this movie looks cool. Cool cool cool.
What is this about?
Gilly?
Ah yes, live-action Robotics;Notes
I was in robotics this is awesome!!!!
So for those wondering about the numbers on the robot, the numbers 6909 represents the FRC team 6909. Every team is assigned a number such as 118, 254, 5417, etc. Here you can learn more about the team https://www.thebluealliance.com/team/6909.

Look at the mustard on my face! But watch the movie I directed!
Is this about Battlebots? Because I really want it to be about Battlebots.
Why did they make all the robots Asian?
Abed was nice enough to let Britta get the directing credit since Britta paid for his film classes!
“you build **community**”
Ah someone else confirmed it.
I was like
“I was part of a “First” robotics team, that’s definitely their skirting and size of robot, and numbering”
Was a lot of fun. One year was a foam basketball shooter and balancer, the next year was Frisbee tossing and pull up bar.
“When you build robots, you build community” I’m sorry but what the hell does that mean.
I love how Gillian is trying to make a difference with her STEM oriented work with this and her podcast.
Ayyy FRC! It’s been a long time since I was in an FRC team back in high school. Nice to see a movie about it again.
The unexpected sequel to Robots /s
This is really cool to me. FIRST robotics was one of the only things that kept me in high school. TEAM 321.
I was in FIRST in 1997. Any old timers out there?
So since most people don’t know much about this.
It’s about the FIRST Robotics Completion (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology)
The founders are the late MIT professor Woodie Flowers, and Dean Kamen. (dean is known for a few of his inventions including the Segway, a wheelchair that can climb stairs, a water purification Device he teamed up with coke to put in 3rd world countries and helping create the coke freestyle machines)
The program challenges kids to designs and build a 120 (lately 125 and usually comes out to 150 with bumpers and batter) robot every year in only 6 weeks. Every year is a new type of challenge and theme. Lately they’ve partnered with Disney for a Star Wars theme, and this year with boeing. Some objectives included shooting frisbees, basketballs, climbing bridges and more.
Competition season is about to hit so there will be events all around the us in the coming weeks.
Edit: to learn more about this and the other programs for ages 4-18 or get involved check out [FirstInspires](www.firstinspires.org)
Haha nice

Britta’s in it?
This looks so wholesome 🥰
When you build robots, you build ***Community***.
One thing I really like about streaming services doing movies, is that they don’t do 15 months of previews and posters and interviews and build up. Rarely do I hear about a big movie going to streaming more than 6 months before it drops, sometimes not until 30 days prior.
Dope! First robotics is a great organization promoting STEM and engineering careers. Lookin forward to this!
aw.. that’s great. I’ve taught robotics for 13 years, now. FRC was the first 8. I miss making giant 120lb robots.
I loved doing FIRST. I was awful but I always had fun creating the robots. It’ll be an interesting film!
[Here’s the trailer since nobody posted](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjIISbARc20)
Ah man, the nostalgia. FRC competitions are some of my happiest memories.
Great news to hear Gillian Jacobs directed a documentary for Disney+.
I love Gillian Jacobs!
Nice
Yooo, I used to be on a first robotics team. Blount county team 4504. I’ve still got some of the pins teams always gave out at competitions somewhere
